Senior Software Engineer

Kinetic Xyber is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain secure software solutions that support mission-focused technology and operational readiness. In this role, you will build and integrate applications, APIs, and automation tools that enable cyber operations, training, and mission-support capabilities. You will apply DevSecOps principles throughout the development lifecycle, from design and coding through testing and deployment, ensuring solutions are secure, reliable, and maintainable. This position suits an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, writing clean and maintainable code, and contributing to systems that directly support mission outcomes. • Design, develop, and maintain secure software applications and integrations supporting mission technology needs
• Build and maintain APIs and automation tools to streamline workflows and system integration
• Apply DevSecOps practices across the development lifecycle, including CI/CD, testing, and secure coding
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and program stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Conduct code reviews and testing to ensure software quality, reliability, and maintainability
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues
• Document software architecture, code, and technical processes
• Support integration of software solutions into mission and training environments

Required:
• Demonstrated experience in software development using modern programming languages and frameworks
• Experience building and integrating APIs and automation tools
• Familiarity with secure software development and DevSecOps practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to write clean, maintainable code

Preferred:
• Experience supporting government, defense, or mission-focused technology environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software testing practices
• Relevant certifications or advanced training in software engineering or secure development
